Polish Porcelain Factories "Ćmielów" and "Chodzież" S.A. is the largest thin-walled porcelain factory in Europe. Our experience translates into 228 years of attention to the smallest detail and passion for creating a unique design. Cooperating with outstanding designers, we offer luxurious porcelain inspired by tradition and unique in the world scale design. We create unique items, putting emphasis on the craftsmanship of hand-made and decorative workmanship. The company combines three unique brands: Ćmielów, Chodzież and Ćmielów Design Studio.
In the Ćmielow collections we refer to the sources by recreating the oldest, one-of-a-kind, collector's cuts of traditional porcelain tableware. This classic and traditional brand is famous for its historic sets of tableware in a new exclusive edition. Porcelain tableware from Ćmielów is present on the tables of monarchs and heads of state all over the world and is a frequent gift chosen by the elite.
Chodzież is a beloved brand of traditional families, which has accompanied for years during the celebration of everyday moments. We identify the walk with the warmth of traditional and noble porcelain, which has accompanied family celebrations for years. Our collections change from year to year in order to meet the current needs of future generations. Functional porcelain from "Chodzież" is a dozen or so cuts designed by the creators of the Design Centre, whose roots date back to the beginnings of the company's activity. Idyllic everyday stylistics and sophisticated cuts give it the name Classic.
Ćmielów Design Studio is a brand and at the same time a modern design studio open to artists from all over the world. CDS is the youngest brand in the group, which celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2018. The Artistic Director is Marek Cecuła, who creates unconventional forms delightful in design and addressed to people walking with the spirit of the times. The uniqueness of CDS forms is confirmed by the New Atelier set, which is on display at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
228 years of tradition
The beginnings of the factories in Ćmielów and Chodzież date back to the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Over the course of more than two centuries, excellent designers have been invited to cooperate with us, whose styles are still in our offer today. Polish Porcelain Factories is a long-standing tradition cultivated for generations, but also development and setting new trends. It is here that the projects of such outstanding artists of the interwar period as Józef Wysocki, Wincenty Potacki or Bogdan Wendorf meet with the modern design of Ćmielów Design Studio. The result is a modern company, but inspired by the spirit of the past. We are close to the idea of combining tradition with modernity - respect for the past, but also looking to the future.
